Analog Devices rated among the Top 50 Greenest U.S. Companies
Bangalore, India, 16 July 2014: Analog Devices, a global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal processing applications, announced today that Newsweek magazine has ranked the company as among the greenest companies in the United States. Analog Devices placed 50th in the 2014 Newsweek U.S. Green rankings, moving up from 92nd place in 2012, the last year the rankings were issued. The Green Rankings, which were introduced in 2009, assess the environmental performance of the world’s biggest companies and are based on publicly-disclosed data that incorporates eight environmentally-focused performance indicators, including factors such as energy use, water conservation, waste and green-house gas productivity, environmental strategy, policy, management, and reputation.
According to Newsweek, 500 companies were evaluated against their industry peers and the determination was overseen by a panel of experts that included leading sustainability practitioners. Among the companies evaluated, those working in the technology hardware industry were found to have the highest average overall green score.
