Blackberry Z3 Review and Verdict
BlackBerry has launched its new smartphone BlackBerry Z3 in India. BlackBerry Z3 runs on BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1, comes with a 5” display and a long lasting battery. It is the first BlackBerry’s budget device, and first smartphone manufactured by Chinese company Foxconn.

Design:
BlackBerry Z3 is 5-inch smartphone weighs 164g and measures about 9.3mm in depth. It is primarily made of plastic. It is in rectangular shape. The screen resolution is 960×540 pixels. All the buttons like the Power, Mute and Volume rocker keys are placed on the left side of smartphone and micro-SIM and microSD card slot is located on right side of smartphone. BlackBerry logo placed at the bottom of front side.
On the top user will find 3.5 mm audio jack and on the bottom user will find the micro USB port for charging and data synchronisation of the device with a USB cable.
Back side of smartphone, It features a textured non-removable back panel for grip the phone comfortably. It features a 5MP camera, BlackBery logo and a speaker grill.
In Blackberry Z3 battery 2,500 mAh and it is non-removable. It sports 5 MP Primary camera with LED flash and 1.1 MP secondary camera with fixed-focus. The mono speaker grill is placed at the bottom.
Performance:
The BlackBerry Z3 runs on BlackBerry 10.2.1 OS and is powered by Dual Core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm MSM8230 processor and 1.5GB of RAM. Multi-tasking it easy and user can work on a maximum of four apps at the same time. Performance is not an issue with this smartphone, It does not lag. The smartphone also stays cool most of the time.
This smartphone Z3 comes with 8GB internal storage and can be expandable up to 32 GB.
Now I want to talk about its battery life. I was very impressed with battery life of BlackBerry Z3. My Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and e-mail accounts were opened whole day in the background. I have played games, clicked images and chating with friends on WhatsApp. Now you may be thinking that I have charged this phone after every 8-10 hours…But, I have charged this device only 2 times in 5 days, which was an awesome feeling.
Camera:
The BlackBerry Z3 comes with a 5MP rear camera and a 1.1MP front facing camera. I have spent more time for take pictures with Z3 and was very impressed. There is no dedicated camera button in Z3, user has to tap on the focus area and image will be click.
The BlackBerry Z3 smartphone’s astonishing Time Shift camera feature lets you capture a group shot where everyone is smiling with their eyes wide open. You can also use Story Maker to bring a collection of photos and videos together, along with music and effects, to produce an HD movie that you can instantly share on YouTube.
The smartphone’s rear camera is capable of capturing 1080p HD video recording while the front-facing camera can shoot 720p video. I have also captured some videos with the rear camera and videos quality were decent.
Software:
BlackBerry Z3 runs on BlackBerry 10.2.1 OS. All the latest updates are there — BBM stickers, quick settings, BlackBerry Priority Hub and the ability to install Android apps OTA (over the air).
You can also install Android apps on BlackBerry Z3. To install Android apps on BlackBerry Z3 you have to download APK (Android app installation) files from the web or install a third party Android app store such as 1Mobile Market.
The BlackBerry Z3 comes with apps like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, FourSquare, DocsToGo, DropBox, YouTube, Evernote, and Adobe Reader.
For apps, it tied up with Amazon app store which provides 240000 apps. Amazon apps store will available after the release of Blackberry OS(operating system).
The BlackBerry Keyboard learns what words you use and how you use them, and then offers them up to you so you can type faster and more accurately. It gives you the best Hindi typing experience on a touchscreen.
The new BlackBerry Z3 includes a built-in FM radio. You can listen to local FM stations, which does not require any network connection.
Verdict & Price:
Blackberry Z3 provide good battery life, which is a necessary part of any smartphone. In our review it clearly stands up-to mark. It also supports android apps. We can do multi-task on it and it never lag. Indian user can also get Hindi typing experience on a touchscreen and smartphone’s astonishing Time Shift camera feature lets you capture a group shot where everyone is smiling with their eyes wide open.
So, if you have bored with your old smartphone and want to buy new smartphone within your budget and want to explore exciting new feature then you can go for Blackberry Z3.
