Blue Jeans Network continues global growth & innovation, expands operations in India
Bangalore, India, July 2, 2014: Blue Jeans Network, the global leader in interoperable video collaboration services, representing over 35 percent of the global video conferencing services market, today announced the expansion of its India operations. With a fundamental shift happening in the marketplace and an increasing demand for a single tool to manage all kinds of business collaboration cohesively, the expansion of the team in India will help fuel innovation in the global market. The Bangalore team has grown to nearly 100 employees and drives R&D and product line innovation for Blue Jeans, in addition to supporting business operations in customer support, cloud operations and business finance. As a result of the steady growth in Bangalore, the team will be moving into a new 35,000 square foot world-class facility at Prestige Tech Park, Outer Ring Road, Marthahalli.
Vice President & Managing Director of Blue Jeans India said, “We are proud of the growth and global impact our team has achieved for Blue Jeans over the past few years. Because of the quality of local talent in cloud computing we are able to continue expanding our footprint in India and drive innovation in the video conferencing services market, which is a one billion minute per year opportunity.”
Blue Jeans’ mission is to provide one consolidated service for every business meeting, bringing the best of video, audio, and web conferencing under one easy to use platform. The Blue Jeans service boosts collaboration and productivity for businesses of all sizes with a scalable, easy-to-use service for face-to-face video meetings and rich content sharing across conference rooms, desktops, and mobile devices. The shift away from traditional hardware-based solutions from legacy players like Cisco and Polycom to a cloud-based solution like Blue Jeans has contributed to the service being used every day by businesses and consumers in all seven continents.
CEO and co-founder of Blue Jeans Network Krish Ramakrishnan said, “The company started in India, and our research and development teams have always been a core part of our infrastructure and product innovation. We are excited that after four short years, and accomplishing some significant company milestones, we are able to further demonstrate our commitment in India and ramp up our R&D teams in response to the extensive global demand.”
Businesses are looking for an easy and cost effective way to connect and collaborate over audio and video, and share multi-media content across all their platforms from mobile devices, to desktops and laptops, to conference rooms. In a recent survey of business professionals, the majority of people indicated they prefer all of their online or remote meetings to include face-to-face video of meeting participants and 85 percent indicated they want one, unified service rather than separate tools for video conferencing, web conferencing and audio conferencing. The legacy presentation-centric web conferencing tools just don’t suffice as more people are developing a preference for face-to-face, video-centric collaboration. Last month, Blue Jeans announced new recording and large meetings capabilities, enabling meetings to hold up to 100 participants in a single meeting and making the all-in-one experience even better for customers.
Blue Jeans Network is Headquartered in Silicon Valley, with additional offices in San Francisco and Orange County. In 2013 Blue Jeans expanded into the UK and Australia and raised an additional $50 million in new funding led by Battery Ventures, bringing the total overall financing for Blue Jeans to nearly $100 million.
