Brocade’s Pre-Budget expectations

Quote from Mr. Edgar Dias, Regional Director, India, Brocade on Pre-Budget expectations:

Regional-Director-India-Brocade-Edgar-DiasWith India now the world’s second largest telecommunications market, with nearly one billion subscribers, the sector has many challenges and enormous opportunities while it continues to expand.  All it requires is a major policy thrust. I hope that the new government which has come to power on the plank of development and also for its decisive decision-making premise, will create an eco-system for uninhibited growth of the IT infrastructure overall. The National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN), an ambitious project, had been put on the back-burner. The new government would do well if it accelerates the pace of NOFN implementation if it truly wants to connect ‘125 crore’ Indians. It is urgent to establish optical fibre cable (OFC) based high capacity broadband connectivity at every Panchayat in the country to benefit from convergence of voice, data, and video for improving training, education, service delivery and governance. Also emphasis should be put on policies to create sustainable eco-socio economic infrastructure across the country as this will directly impact business growth. This onus of creating a stable and progressive business climate, a friendly investment environment and indeed the ecosystem for all stakeholders lies with the Government of India.
