Canon launches its sixth edition of Photomarathon in India
New Delhi, India, September 26, 2015: Canon has launched its sixth edition of Photomarathon in India. Organized at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The theme based photo contest witnessed amateur and professional photographers playing their tricks and techniques with cameras to present exemplary imagery. Canon Photomarathon will reach the cities of Bengaluru and Mumbai on October 10, 2015 and October 31, 2015 respectively.
The Canon Photomarathon 2015 was flagged off by Mr. Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India, which attracted over 500 entries. The judges included the Fashion and Wildlife Photographer -Mr. Akash Das; Travel Photographer – Mr. Ajay Sood and Lifestyle Photographer – Mr. Ravi Dhingra.
Speaking on the occasion, Kazutada Kobayashi, CEO of Canon India, said, “Canon Photomarathon has created an edge for photography enthusiasts, who, every year, compete to win the coveted winner title and get rewarded for their exemplary skills. Photography culture is at its peak in India and as we grow, we aim to beautifully craft the culture of capturing special memories. Through the sixth edition of Canon Photomarathon India, we are providing a platform to photographers to showcase their creativity and strengthen the bond with cameras. We are excited on the response received and also how the participants, learn, shoot and challenge themselves and build relationship with fellow photographers. All in all, Canon unearths greatest talents and recognizes them through this largest photography competition.”
After the kick off in Delhi, the photomarathon will travel to Bengaluru and Mumbai. In Canon Photomarathon 2015, each contestant will be judged on theme based competition. In this very challenging competition, each contestant will have to shoot pictures within a limited timeframe on a given theme. Themes will be announced just before the event which will make it even more competitive. The pictures will be judged by well-known photographers based on their creative, technical and narrative sense.
The highlight of the event is the Grand prize which is a trip to Canon Japan’s Photo Clinic (photo workshop). The second and third winners will take the EOS 750D + EF-S18-55 IS STM kit + 8GB SD card and the EOS 700D + EF-S18-55 IS STM kit + 8GB SD card respectively. Additionally, Canon will gratify theme winners who will take home the PowerShot G7X and the IXUS 160 cameras.
