FreeCharge Wallet crosses 10 Million users in India

Bangalore, India, November 27, 2015: FreeCharge has announced that FreeCharge Wallet crossed 10 million registered active users, a milestone it achieved in just sixty days of customer roll out. This is a first for any digital platform in India and reflects FreeCharge’s connect with the digital natives of India.

FreeCharge Wallet is actively being used by customers for recharge and utility bill payments and has received positive feedback from customers for its ease of use. FreeCharge Wallet version 2 was introduced a few weeks into the launch, with a major upgrade in UI and customer experience. New features like Auto enrolment, one click transactions were introduced. FreeCharge customers are able to complete a transaction within 10 seconds with 99% plus success rate which was extensively used and appreciated by customers during the festive season sale.

FreeCharge is developing new technologies in combining both online and offline modes to make transactions faster and more secure than cash. FreeCharge plans to expand into a number of new payments services in the next few months with new merchant products. To this end, FreeCharge has already tied up with a number of leading marquee retailers. In the online space FreeCharge wallet will soon be available across the top 50 of the leading online merchants.

The company recently announced partnerships with Shoppers Stop and Aadhaar and is also planning to launch various initiatives during VIVO IPL to further enhance the experience and adoption amongst digital natives of India.
