Industry honors MAHAGENCO with two awards for SAP-ERP, successfully implemented by L&T Infotech
Mumbai, India, October, 10, 2014: L&T Infotech, a global provider of information technology services and solutions and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the USD 14.3 billion Larsen & Toubro, is proud to announce the successful SAP-ERP implementation at MAHAGENCO (Maharshatra State Power Generation Co. Ltd.), which has received coveted SAP-ACE Award and Elets Award.
This SAP ERP implementation project named as NirmITee…Gen Next with IT by MAHAGENCO, bags the SAP for Customer Excellence (ACE) Best Run Award in Utilities – Generation and Elets Technomedia Award (an award for IT implementation in PSU given at the PSU Summit 2014).

As part of the deal with MAHAGENCO, L&T Infotech implemented SAP modules across various business processes, trained 50 core team users, 200 power users and 1100 plus end users. The contract covered all electricity generation plants (Thermal, Gas and Hydro) and all the office locations across Maharashtra. L&T Infotech undertook implementation process in two phases – pilot and roll-out. The Company would provide annual support and maintenance to MAHAGENCO for five years thereafter.
Power generation utilities from other states like Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh have sent their delegations to MAHAGENCO to study this spectacular achievement. Similarly, SEBI and the Reserve Bank of India have visited MAHAGENCO for studying the ERP implementation.
