Lenovo became one of the top contenders in the market for budget flagship phones along with it’s rivals Motorola and Redmi. Lenovo K8 is the ‘killer Note’ as it was claimed to be, due to its killer configuration and features. It can be compared to Moto G5 Plus, Redmi Note 4 and Honor 6X in terms of competition.

- 3 GB RAM/ 4 GB RAM

Hardware and OS:
Lenovo has made a major jump in terms of better hardware and OS in it’s latest killer flagship phone Lenovo K8 Note. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio X23 chipset which is of 1.4 GHz Deca Core processor, which is very powerful processor to deliver beast performance. The phone came in two variants of 3GB and 4GB RAM with internal memories of 32GB and 64GB. The big RAM variants of 3GB and 4GB provide speed and power for the phone. There is Dedicated memory Slot for the SD card and SIM cards which is sigh of relief for many users. The major change done in the Lenovo K8 is with it’s OS, as Lenovo has removed it’s own “VIBE” UI and replaced it with pure stock android. This has qualified this phone to become close contender for its competitors. It is loaded with Android Nougat 7.1.1 which is the latest version of android and the phone is expected to receive ‘Oreo’ update soon, as it is loaded with pure stock android.
Display & Design:
Display is of 5.5 Inch 2.5D Curved Arc glass, it gives different viewing angles without much problem while viewing. It comes with 1080p Full HD display and delivers very decent color saturation. When used in day-light the screen brightness has been satisfactory as, one does not need to struggle while using the phone in the daylight.
Specialized function – Music Key:
A new specialized function key i.e ‘Music key’ has been added as an additional feature. This key directly takes you to the music application upon long press, similarly one can assign the music key with tasks such as Camera, Notes, Document and other functional apps upon long press. This can be seen as a smart option added up by Lenovo to make the ‘K8’ to look more smart in its features.
Camera:
In each of the phone’s feature there is some kind of newness lenovo has tried to put. In the section of ‘Camera’ Lenovo K8 comes with ‘Dual camera’ having two rear cameras. One of which is a primary 13 MP shooter supported by a 5 MP secondary shooter. While checked with the camera quality it seemed that 5 MP stood for image stabilization and in-depth field images. Quality of images were decent but expected to be better due to the dual camera focus. The selfie camera of 13 MP also has been decent enough in bright light conditions, but low light photography has been still an area where Lenovo need to improve if compared to Motorola phones.
Battery:
Lenovo K8 is killer in all segments and it’s battery is the main reason why it was named so. The powerful processor is powered by a 4000MaH battery that can keep the phone running for a whole day. It was facilitated with a 15W charger similar to the Moto phones, and it support Turbocharging.
Performance:
Looking at the specs on the paper Lenovo K8 is the strong contender for their competitors and it proved to be strong enough in real-time testing conditions. Build quality seems to be improvised while retaining the conventional phone design. Camera was decent enough with the secondary accessory shooter but it is expected to be more accurate when we compare with honor 6X. Battery backup was decent and few tweaks or updates could fix some irregular battery backup time. The ability to handle multi-tasking is higher due to the Helio X23 Deca-core processor but thanks to the pure stock Android, which gives a pleasant experience without any lag. 4 GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant phone can experience the best performance of this device which comes at a decent price tag of 13,999/.
Verdict:
An improvised and a definite Killer Note from Lenovo.
