Mphasis F1 Foundation partners with Lokalex to contribute to the National Digital Literacy Mission
Bangalore, India, December 10, 2014: Mphasis F1 Foundation, the CSR Trust of Mphasis, has announced its partnership with Local Community Exchange Empowerment Trust (Lokalex), a non-profit organization to launch a pilot program for rural education through IT. This is in keeping with the National Digital Literacy Mission.
The program looks to include equal opportunity in education for disadvantaged children, and promoting education via technology led large scale learning platforms (Digital Education). The Mphasis F1 Foundation and Lokalex will partner to set up education centers for promoting education and all-round development of tribal children. The IT and CSR panel of CII have been instrumental in bringing this partnership together.
The educational centers run by Mphasis F1 Foundation and Lokalex will provide digital infrastructure in chosen rural areas. The centers will be internet enabled and will train local resources to run the center in the long term. The center will provide education and remote mentoring by experts as well as employee volunteers from Mphasis. Titled ‘Chetan’, the first education center will be set up in Mysore followed by more in the days to come.
