Nokia and CG Net deploy GPON solutions for high-speed broadband in Kathmandu, Nepal
Nokia announced that CG NET will deploy its Gigabit Passive Optical Networking (GPON) solution as part of an extensive Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) roll-out across the Kathmandu Valley.
Nokia’s solution will allow CG NET to cost-effectively scale its network in line with the growing demand for a high-speed broadband network due to increased consumption of video, OTT content, and online education.
Nokia’s solution will enable CG NET to offer fastest broadband speeds in the market and competitive service offering for IPTV, gaming, remote work and remote education. In addition, it will allow for efficient future upgrade to next-generation technologies and Software-Defined Access networks, leveraging the same access platform. The project includes Nokia consumer fiber modems to ensure premium digital experiences within the user premises.
Nokia is a global market leader in fiber broadband with more than 300 GPON deployments worldwide.
