Tata Docomo launches Tata Photon Walky
Bangalore, India, March 24, 2015: With its continuous endeavor to offer innovative products and services to meet the evolving needs of its customers, Tata Docomo, the unified brand of Tata Teleservices has launched Tata Photon Walky. The traditional Tata Walky now gets wifi enabled; a multi-purpose, portable wireless device that can be used to make calls and surf the internet.
Targeted more towards the new age internet generation that wants to stay connected all the time, the Tata Photon Walky works both as a landline and WiFi hotspot and can connect upto 5 devices at the same time.
“Tata Photon Walky is a unique device that will give the wireless landline users an opportunity to surf internet by creating a simultaneous Wi-Fi hotspot. With the rise in the number of smartphone and tablet users in India, there has been a shift in the way Internet is accessed by customers in addition to their otherwise voice usage. With Tata Photon Walky, we have addressed the internet needs of multiple users including Smartphone customers at home or on the move with a single, easy to use device.” said Gurinder Singh Sandhu, Head – Marketing, Mobility, Tata Docomo.
Wi-Fi hotspots are becoming an increasingly important category for customers who want to access internet simultaneously at home or on move. Now with Tata Photon Wi-Fi they need not depend on a third party Wi-Fi source, but can create their own wi-fi zone and connect to internet. Setting up the Tata Photon Walky is very easy, one needs to just press the Wi-Fi key on the Walky and start the Wi-Fi hotspot.
The Tata Photon Walky is an ideal solution for Wi-Fi-free conference rooms, impromptu brainstorming sessions, and even family road trips. Rather than requiring everyone in the room to use their own devices to get online, a single mobile hotspot can do the job more cost-effectively besides giving the benefit of making voice calls also.
Tata Photon Walky device is priced at Rs. 3850 and comes with a monthly tariff plan starting from Rs. 399 for 3 GB data going up to Rs.899 for 8 GB data for post-pay users.
