Xavient’s Pre-Budget expectations
Quote from Mr. Arshad Majeed, Executive Vice President, Xavient Information Systems on Pre-Budget expectations:
Considering few of the initiatives towards better governance that the new government has taken, the economic conditions seems to be positive and sights a rise on technology spending too. IT industry expects high amount of technology adoption by government for the betterment of every sector through a better e-governance model for better domestic market growth.
IT/ITeS sector expects the new government to provide a fair, straightforward regulatory framework to operate smoothly and ensure international transfer pricing adjustments and introduce consolidated tax filing for Indian MNCs. Significant tax incentives and benefits will further boost smaller and startup set ups.
The government should introduce incentive policies for IT providers and vendors providing technology services for betterment of society like environment. Streamlining the procurement processes for IT products and services will further assist. Also, the government should clearly explain about royalty implications on software and take steps to minimize litigations.
There should be more focus focus on facilitating and developing emerging technologies like cloud. Lowering the cost of these services will help small and medium sized businesses to adopt technology easily. Augmented focus on skill development initiatives for technology personnel to have better and competent workforce resources would certainly be welcomed.
