Xiaomi India strengthens its retail footprints with 100+ new exclusive retail stores

Xiaomi India announced the inauguration of 100+ Xiaomi retail stores in India. Continuing to be the largest exclusive brand retail network in India, Xiaomi is expanding its footprint in the country by adding these stores across tier 5 and tier 6 markets. With this, Xiaomi India marks its prominent presence across cities from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Thereby changing the dynamics of retail business in rural markets and bringing in festive cheer for consumers.

Xiaomi India has always prioritised its commitment to the country and staying true to this, the brand’s 100 + new retail stores will be rooted in Tier-5 and Tier-6 cities which have a population count of fewer than 50 thousand people. Determined to reach the remotest of areas in the country and address the needs of customers by making technology more accessible to all, the company will also be creating employment opportunities for 200+ families, thereby fostering entrepreneurship across India.

Commenting on the milestone, Muralikrishnan B, Chief Operating Officer, Xiaomi India, said, ‘We started our Grow with Mi initiative 6 months back and are overwhelmed with the responses and support that we have received from our retail partners across the country. This has encouraged us to further strengthen our network with 100+ new stores. Our aim with the initiative is to increase the availability of Xiaomi and Redmi products in Tier 5 and Tier 6 cities and provide a best-in-class experience in regions that have limited access. We are confident that our retail stores will take the budding entrepreneurs a step closer towards their dream and further generate employment in each pocket of the country.”

Starting on its offline journey, Xiaomi India inaugurated its first flagship retail store on 15th August 2018 in Bengaluru and in a little over 2 years, reached a milestone of opening 3,000+ offline retail stores in the country, thereby fostering employment for over 6000 people across India. In March 2021, with its Grow with Mi Initiative, the company had announced its plan to double the number of offline retail touchpoints as well as a number of exclusive retail stores in India. Further, the company had committed to open 6000 stores in the next 2 years with an investment of INR 100 crore to strengthen its commitment towards its consumers and mission to democratize access to technology for everyone.

To reach deeper pockets in the country, Xiaomi India will open stores from Kashmir to Kanyakumari with 12 new stores in the East, 26 in the Western regions, 29 in the North, and 33 in the South of the country. Xiaomi India has been the #1 smartphone brand for 16 consecutive quarters and currently has 75+ Mi Homes, 75+ Mi Studios, 9400+ Mi Preferred Partners, and 4000+ Large format Retail partners along with 3000+ Mi Stores. The brand also launched its first omni-channel solution last year during the pandemic – Mi Commerce as a special initiative with the intent to blur online and offline boundaries.
