Expectation from the new Government in the IT space
Quote from Mr. Mrinmoy Purkayastha, VP Marketing, Calsoft Labs(An Alten Group Company) on his expectations from the new Government in the IT space:
“Our incoming government is faced with substantial frustration among voters yearning for change. The need of the hour is to provide incentives to IT companies, encouraging them to set up operations in Tier-II & III towns and improve the standard of living in these regions, as migration of talent will be a huge affliction in improving the infrastructure. The demand for Indian IT remains strong. However rising infrastructure costs, attrition, hiring and training costs in Tier I cities are challenging India’s global competitiveness. Factors such as infrastructure growth, increase in number of schools imparting high quality UG/PG education, and government policies will spur demand and is likely to make certain tier II and III towns more favorable as investment destinations. All of this, will however, depend on how the infrastructure develops driving faster development and more employment opportunities taking the pressure off the metros and tier I cities, and ensure that these cities continue to grow at an accelerated pace.”
“From an industry perspective, the ESDM (Electronics Design and Manufacturing) ecosystem is a huge opportunity for India. In spite of top-notch design talent and labour available in India, we continue to lag other Asian countries on the manufacturing front, primarily because of challenges associated with sourcing/availability of components at right prices. We hope the new government will take steps to promote electronic manufacturing in India, help promoters to build manufacturing capacity and attract foreign investment to this sector. We would like congratulate the new government and are anticipating strong, fast and sustainable growth”, Mrinmoy Purkayastha, VP Marketing, Calsoft Labs (An Alten Group Company).
